THE LINCOLN LIBRARY

WORKSHOP MAINTENANCE MANUAL - This is the basic book. With information about nearly every system in the car, this book gets you started on the right foot. You will find detailed descriptions, troubleshooting, removal, and repair information so that you can look at your car with confidence instead of outright terror.

These books are printed on heavyweight paper (heavier than the original manuals that suffered "print through"), spiral bound to lie flat when opened (instead of a glued binding that separates), and protected by a thick plastic cover (saving it from greasy hands and coffee spills).

WIRING DIAGRAM - I have worked on many cars and read many wiring diagrams but I've never used something as well thought out as these. First of all, the entire set is printed on 11 X 17-inch foldout sheets. With all that space the important wiring, switches and plugs are quite a bit easier to find. Each individual system (starting, ignition, seat, exterior lighting, etc.) has its own schematic so that you don't have to weed through information that isn't pertinent. Each system also has a separate page with a "see-through" Lincoln depicting the location of each wire, switch or relay that is used in that system. I could not have done better if I had written this myself.

1965 owners: There are no wiring schematics in the 65 shop manual so this wiring diagram set is almost mandatory.

1966 owners: There are no separate wiring diagram set for this year. The only schematics are in the 66 shop manual, although the 67 diagrams are close and may prove helpful.

CONVERTIBLE TOP MANUAL - Simply Brilliant! Each cycle of the convertible top and deck system is shown on its separate page, depicting only the wires, limit switches, relays and motors that are necessary to operate that particular cycle. Determine exactly which cycle has failed, go to that page in the book and you have just narrowed the problem to three or four possibilities out of the 10,000 parts in the car. Congratulations!

CONVERTIBLE AUTOMATIC REAR WINDOW TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE - After bragging about such great factory manuals, I have to confess that this function is covered poorly, if at all. The convertible rear door glasses are designed to drop automatically when the door is opened, and raise back up when the door is closed. Because there are so many different things happening at the same time, this system can get confusing to troubleshoot in a real big hurry. We wrote our own book on the subject with a detailed schematic and easy step by step troubleshooting.

AIR CONDITIONING MANUAL - This is a great addition to your Lincoln Library. We recently duplicated the factory heater and air conditioning manual that shows greater detail with regard to vacuum line routing and component location.

NOTE: 1966 owners should check for stamping numbers on their automatic temperature control box as some cars were converted to the 67 and later system and would need that book for troubleshooting.

VACUUM MANUAL - A great book with detailed depictions of vacuum hose routing and colors codes.

ORIGINAL SHOWROOM BROCHURES - On occasion, I find original dealer sales brochures that were displayed in the showrooms when the cars was new. These are fun to read and a handy reference for option and authenticity questions. If that is not reason enough to own one, many of these pieces are becoming collectibles in their own right. Some of this literature has doubled and even tripled in value in the last five years. Supply is limited (as these are not being reproduced) so call with your year and we'll be more that happy to check on availability for you.

POSTERS - The 64-65 convertible poster illustrates the many switches, wiring and relays that work the magical convertible top and deck lid. It also includes step by step troubleshooting for each cycle when you loose the magic. I guarantee it will make an interesting conversation piece hanging over your workbench. The 61-69 poster illustrates some fine examples of our slab sides from Automobile Quarterly Magazine.
